Native SwiftUI app, host conversations, embedded Apple VMs, organizations, messaging, calendar, files, live conversation sync, email client, and plan management.
Fully managed sessions are in development and unavailable. Planned work also includes embedded Windows, verified Windows Metal acceleration, automatic guest-agent pairing, remote VM sharing, and production video calls. Google calendars can be accessed through calendars already synced with macOS, with permission.
Check downloads for the available build and checksum. Developer previews are Apple Development signed, not notarized. Developer ID signing and clean-machine first-run verification remain ahead.
The interface is native SwiftUI. Apple Virtualization hosts local macOS and Linux guests. A private Electron service supplies isolated Chromium profiles and browser MCP tools; it is not the visible app interface.
You can link an existing UTM virtual machine and explicitly open its separate window. Embedded Windows display and Windows GPU acceleration are not available in this build. Pane does not automatically install Windows or experimental drivers.
Live sync is opt-in per session and account. It currently syncs a bounded recent conversation snapshot with conflict checks. It does not transfer VM disks, browser cookies, credentials, or unsent drafts. Conversation backups and VM disk backups are different features.
Each host Chromium profile has its own proxy settings and compatible unpacked extensions. Electron supports a subset of Chrome extension APIs; Chrome Web Store installation is not included. Chrome installed inside a VM uses the guest’s own browser profile and extension support.
AI usage is separate. Pane Cloud will offer managed compute; access and pricing aren’t available yet. Subscriptions are unavailable and no charges are made.
